I'm doing it again!!!

I am SO MAD at myself!!!  I'm doing it AGAIN!  I'm stressing and worrying about sales on my Etsy.com shop and not creating anything!  I have to get out - and STAY out - of this rut!

Part of my problem, too, is that my shop, at this point in time, is not part of my primary income.  So, when I get behind on my "real" work, I will worry that I shouldn't be working on my crafts.  In reality, I need to give myself some down time to create and to use my talents and gifts.  I think it probably keeps me sane. ;o)

"She's had HOW MANY sales?!"

This evening, I was looking at one of my favorite Etsy.com shops.  I noticed she had made 86 sales in just under one year.  Eight-six!!!  I've had a whopping five sales in seven months.  I need to focus on my shop and my work and not give up!  I've read that sales, at the beginning, are usually slow.  So, chin up, Angela!

Hang in There!

I've sold a whopping three items in five months.  I'm not going to give up!  Since I first saw that people were selling their wares on the Internet, I've wanted my own Internet shop.  No expensive overhead!  I've always loved to create, so I'm going to keep on doing it.  I'm not giving up!  So, hang in there yourself, and don't give up! :o)

Enjoy Yourself!

I've been so busy worrying about what's going to sell in my shop that I forgot to to create and just enjoy myself! I started my Etsy.com shop in the first place to sell all the jewelry I was creating, because I enjoy making the jewelry.  I need to enjoy being creative and stop worrying about whether or not it's going to sell!

Photographing Your Creations

If you have an online shop, you need good photographs of your work.  Cloudy days work best for this - providing it's not raining.  The sunlight is diffused and does not cast harsh shadows.  This is an excellent thing to remember when photographing portraits of people and animals, as well.

I do find I have an exception to this rule.  I like to photograph my jewelry on sunny, winter days, when there's light glittering off the jewels/stones.  Save photographing crystals for cloudy days, though.  I can't get my camera to focus on crystals in the sunlight; the sparkles throw off my auto-focus.

Rainy Days.....

Chilly, rainy days are good time to snuggle up with a hot cup of coffee and create a masterpiece!

Welcome to IdaMountain Treasures!

Hello.  Located in my home town, Boise, Idaho, I've always been compelled to create.  I love photography, creating with Sculpy, crocheting, knitting, as well as paper arts.  I've been creating my own jewelry for several years, and after much encouragement from friends, I'm offering it to you here at IdaMountain Treasures.
